Error the first time I make progress, after that guide doesn't progress.

EDIT: Found the cause, it was one of my other addons, XLoot

Whenever I make progress on a quest (kill a required monster or loot an item) I get an error. After that the guide stops progressing, the active step doesn't change, even if I manually click the checkbox

Are you using Xloot 1.0 ?
If you are stop using it, and use the other Xloot addon
