Mount/Companion pet guide

I painstakingly added all my companion pets/mounts to all my toons (one has over 100 mounts and over 150 companion pets). Then a Dugi Patch came out and guess what, all of those nice checks are now gone. Is there a way to keep this from happening or should i just disregard checking the mounts/companion pets due to the fact that when a patch comes out, they will go away, or was this just a minor glitch?
