You could always click the green button beside the check box and it'll correct the waypoint if it can (reset/turn on). It has happened to me alot, usually when a zone change occurs or something..

The slash (or back slash w/e) is the default 'toggle walk' button. Also try looking for it in the key bindings option.

It does require you to be level 26. You'll have ample chances to complete the quest while on other quests.
