It's not weird, it's the Windows user access control protecting your system from being accidentally damaged by malicious software. You can disable UAC, but I don't recommend it.

That's exactly what Dugi's guides do, except rather than taking XP into account, it takes quest locations into account and optimizes the path, which is a much quicker way to level.

From either Ramkahan or Schnott'z landing, you can take a flight to Theramore. From there catch a boat to the Eastern Kingdoms.

I've also noticed a delay. Not 5-10min, maybe 30-60 seconds or so on my end, but still a bit annoying when you're swapping guides often.
