This is an update video for to show you the performance of our Vendor Run guide in Cataclysm, (the last video was during WOTLK and it made about 400g/h) but now we are in Cataclysm and the guide works better than ever! check out the video to see the complete run and result.
The Vendor Run guide is an alternative way to make gold and here are the best parts..
- You can make 1200g/hour or more
- No questing required
- No monster killing required
- No professions required
- Players as low as level 40 can do it
The Vendor Run guide is available exclusively with our Dailies & Events guide, you will find it in the Dailies tab under ‘Vendor Supply Run’ section around the bottom.
Special Note:
- Make sure you read the tooltip, the recommended shopping list are listed for each step and you will need to manually tick each step.
- Be careful NOT to buy ‘Bind on Pick Up’ recipes such as the ones from Cenarion Hold in Silithus and several Outlands vendors. You won’t be able to sell these on the auction house.
- Result will vary depending on server and competition but I would still expect you to make close to 1200g/hour. I was being quite conservative with that figure as I actually made about 1800g after selling all my items.

Great stuff Dugi! Just finished the run in 30 minutes, I was able to find almost all the suggested recipes and items! I would like to add two cents:
1) if you do the run after having questing in Outland, you will most likely have honored/revered reputation with some faction, thus you will pay less every item;
2) in the Shadowmoon Valley you suggest to visit a Scryer only vendor, while if someone is Aldor – like me – is unable to buy items. Not a big problem, because it’s only one single item but I think it’s worth mentioning.
I will remember to reply my comment in some days in order to report the amount of money I was able to make with this run.

Don’t forget the usual “caveat”. Besides the fact that, as has been pointed out already, these items will have variable pricing on your own server, so 1000g/hour is an estimate.

a good number of the plans and recipes that your vendor guide tells us to get are taught by the profession trainers now you might want to update your guide accordingly for example every single blacksmith plan your guide tells me to get is already taught by the trainer same with every enchanting plan such as the ruined rod plans and such just thought you should know so you dont waste money on things no one will buy

all recipe will sell, it will take time. I’m assuming you only did the guide last night and expecting anything to sell overnight is very unrealistic. It can take up to two weeks to sell everything.

@American Boy, dude hes easy to understand and he does a great job just because he doesn’t pvp or even pve if that’s the case doesn’t change the fact that his guides rock and usually make you money true this one is very much sub par for him due to most of the recipes being taught by trainers and i did lose 300g but sometimes you lose he didn’t do it on purpose so no reason to be mad it just sucks a lot.

i finished run 1h ago it take about 1-3h to do all 3 of runns i spend about 600g for all búy
i found some problems whit When you go some were it take you back some were else you should delete old pinpoints at guid and some times i go some were and its request friendly-reweded for buy resepi should mention it in guide and its very dificult becous its dont indicate wen you buy it dont cange to other one quest it just some time anying if its not canging wen you buy all of resepis but still good its fine im just

An idea Dugi? I love your guides but sometimes find things aren’t where the guide says and in the new vendor runs there is some items just not available. I was thinking a good idea for us to report any discrepancies would be to have say a small question mark on the quide (eg next to the 3d model button) and if that is clicked it brings up a page related to that specific task and we can put a comment that is then sent to you. Ie: It would tell you the guide we are on, the task we are on and then our comment that the location should be such and such? Often I’ve come across these and writing it down to send you would be smart but I never do.

@Troy, I will add a note at the beginning of the guide to make it clear, some items not being available is the nature of the Vendor run guides, some items are ‘Limited Supply’ it can take 24 hours or longer until it will respawn again. You just have to move on if its not available, it might become available the next time you do the run.
There is a record tab that keep your record of your recent actions, if you can copy and paste your record into the bug report forum along with some explaination that would help us a lot.
We could also do what you’re suggesting, which is kinda like the wowhead client.

Dugi, I was expecting to see a vendor run inside the Cataclysm areas. Instead, I only see the same three areas that have been available for some time. What is new? Did I misunderstand? In spite of that, I still use your guides daily and applaud your massive efforts to keep them current and correct.

@Lindsey, sorry about that I meant that the video above is done during Cataclysm because the last video was older. There is still no new vendors in Cataclysm areas.

The concept of the guide is to collect limited supply item, they have a respawn timer and may not always be there. You need to move on if the item is not available.

I think this method is a wast of time 20% of items are not available at the NCP and they do not sell in the AH

@Dave Meek, some items not being available is expected. The items are limited and have a respawn timer and I think I have proven in the video that the items do sell.

I have not personally tried doing it, but did start a couple of days ago. Then it dawn on me that you should scan the auction house with auctionator as much as possible. That way, you would know how much an item is going for in AH. For eg a Draniac Bag goes for 9g with a vendor and it goes for just 6g at the auction house. Clearly you do not buy it.
To be fair, this meathod is not really a sure-fire way to make gold cause items really vary from server to server. All I can say is that you have to first do your homework and understand your auction house better before rushing to buy up ALL vendor items. Choose your suppliers carefully =)

I did try some of the items, and am aware that some items are limited and may not be there when you try to purchase it. But just so you know that some of the recipes have been removed from vendors as of 4.2 and more might go in the coming 4.3. So this do need some updating.
Thanks for making this wonderful guide anyways. I am working on Loremaster at the moment. Hope I don’t miss out any quest! =D

Run your dailies…. daily, you get 300-400g easily. If you are already a Dugi member, just run through his guides. It is really easy to follow. Each Outland, Northred and Cata zone easily nets you 3-4k even 6-10k if you pick your rewards carefully to DE into enchant mats to sell them.
Through just simply running through dailies and leveling quest I can easily afford the epic flying skill… Heck if you save it up, you can even buy a Vial of Sand and be a happy dragon flying around Azeroth.

Love the guides, made 500g with in the first hour after I started listing items. I did find a few errors:
Kalimdor run -
– The Steamwheel Port is under water and all vendors are gone.
– Deadmist Peak has been taken over by all aggressive NPC’s and also no more vendors.
Eastern Kingdom run -
– Just noticed that the arrow for Revantusk Village points to the Undercity. but the NPC waypoints were pointing to the correct areas.

Day two and I have completed all three runs, no more errors to mention but I have already made a 1600g profit (plus the 600g I spent purchasing items) and I still have 160 items left to sell.
This is by far my favorite guide.

Hello, I havn’t purchased the guide yet and I’m thinking about buying it, but here’s my problem. While leveling guides rely on the player himself and his questing speed, a vendor guide that relies on the AH means that you expect us to play on an server with a very active AH, with lots of end-game raiders and pvpers that have a lot of money and want to spend it…what happens for those of us who are stuck on a “dead” server?

@Solar, I would recommend transferring your character to a more active server (cost $25), its worth it if your server is “dead”
