I think that Darkshore is my favorite area. It has several quest chains that take you north and south and made me really appreciate the need for some help. I got lost twice and heard about addons from others. I stumbled onto Dugi Guides by accident and made me try a new charater to level up from the start. That decision to get the guide had made playing WOW much more fun, entertaning, and enjoyable

I decided to try WOW about 3 years ago & I’m probably one of the oldest players in the game (respect your elders children). I started as a Night Elf Hunter & didn’t know how to do anything, but Darnassus had the most incredible environment i didn’t mind wandering around exploring & trying to figure out what I was supposed to do next. I was all the way into Outland before anyone told me I should change my hearth from Darnassus to Shattrath. LOL Because of the fond memories, Teledrassil is my favorite zone.

my favourite area is hellfire as it is the first where you can get tough quests and the first need to start grouping for good to get good items. the Dugis Guides makes finding the quests to do and the order much simplerndou can literally fly through the levels and fun quests

My favorite zone is diffently Gilneas. Starting as a worgen and then experiencing all of the phasing, the story line and what i feel like a very friendly introduction to World of Warcraft. Every NPC seems like they got a story to tell and that Blizzard (as kind as they have been) have put in some nice new voices for the NPCs just makes it a whole lot more fun to just click on them to hear what they say (who will forget “Get gabbing or get going”?).
Everytime i have started a worgen (which is quiet a few times now) it have been a very nice ride from the start to the end. They intruduce you to a lot of different mechanics throughtout the quests, some seemed a bit wierd at first, but when you have learned what was what, it seems like it got a whole lot easier (and in some cases just very fun to see the Abominations having a barrel on they head)
That my ex can start a worgen and get through the start quests is very nice and says something about the way you play in Gilneas. She started playing a little over half a year ago, but that doesn’t mean that she have learned to play it like most other persons :P

I would recommend Gilneas to everyone that asks “hey! im not very good at leveling, i want to get through the starting zone as fast as i can, but still see some changes and a story which makes me wanna start over again”

My favourite has to be Teldrassil. This is where my first character was created. I was a latecomer to WoW at 56 so had a lot of learning to do. There is some very haunting music in that start zone which i love. I am a huge fan of questing and have Loremaster on 2 characters and will have on 3rd shortly

Hands down, it is Azuremyst Isle. The first toon I ever created was a Dranei, and I was really young playing on my cousin’s account. The whole game of WoW was just mystifying and I thought it was the biggest game in the world. I have the fondest of memories making my little level 3 Dranei try to kill level 15 beasts and die, while my cousin hovered over me. It may be a little bit sentimental and not because of the quests, but I have to say that that really began my gaming experience.

Actually, I always enjoyed the initial start zones and the first couple of areas following them. When I was a real novice to the game, I can remember the game seermed intimidating at times, but the start zones like the valley of trials did a great job of helping to orient new players to the game mode.
As I played, it was easy to see what the concept was building to. The initial zones did and do a good job I think of easing players into the whole game mode.

  8. Custom avatar BlueMistress  817 days ago

I love the Redridge Mountains. This was the first zone “away from home” and it felt like I was really starting an epic adventure. It was also the first zone to really challenge me to improve my mage skills. You never forget your first Polymorph!

  9. Custom avatar Islam Al-Asadi  817 days ago

I mean it’s easy :D it’s the Worgen starting place :D i love how the new quests arent just go and kill 20 demons..
I love how they have made them so much fun :)

My favorite zone is by far Ashenvale. I love it because every time I go there I am reminded of my Vanilla days. I spent weeks there exploring and questing. To this day, when I hear the music I reminisce. The music, atmosphere and quest lines were/are great. Even since the revamp, it is still my favorite.

Now as for dungeons, that’s easy. Scholomance by far. No competition there. I love it for the same reasons I love Ashenvale. The memories of Vanilla. I must have ran that damn dungeon 1000 times just to get my Helm of Valor. Knew it like the back of my hands… Now that they changed it, it still rocks. Not near as much fun as it used to be in Vanilla but, meh, the game has to move on, just like everything else.

It has to be the redridge area i love the new queats there they are awsome.I also love the underwater world it is loads of fun to ride a seahorse:)

My favorite zone in the 1-60 area would definently be Tanaris. I believe that many people will look at this question as the zone they liked the quests in most. I, however, looked it as the zone i liked to spend time in. Tanaris, although mostly desert, is one of the most beatiful zones in old world Azeroth. The beach is beatiful during the day time and while i was in the desert in game, i actually felt like it in real life. I guess I just connected (if one could) to this zone since i stepped foot in it. And you truely haven’t experienced Azeroth until you have seen Tanaris during the night. It is truely breath taking. Plus, Tanaris contains one of my favorite locations in W.O.W., The Caverns of Time. I also enjoyed the Valley of the Watchers with the great Uldum gate. So all of these aesthetically pleasing things factor in my love for Tanaris.

I would have to say that I Worgen starting area of Gilneas. This was the first starting zone I actually enjoyed questing inside. Do not get me wrong here, I do have a high level toon and leveled all my characters out of the starting zones in WTLK so I have not really seen the new starting zones. Gilneas has a great flowing story and is just a wonderfully done zone in both gameplay and graphics. Blizzard did their homework here. I like the way that your progression through the zone is linear. I also like the way Blizzard uses the Phased starting area to tell you the unique story of the Worgens. The starting zones of the other races are really kind of “Blah, lets just do some crap to get you up high enough in level to move on.” I cannot speak for them in Cata though as I have only had the chance to level a Worgen, Gnome, and a Goblen through the revamped starting areas. These are all nicely done.

  14. Bill Grant  817 days ago

My favorite zone is thunder bluff because of the scenery and the wide open spaces. I am very interested in tauren druids and this is the starting area.

  15. Custom avatar Michelle  817 days ago

I have to say that Stonetalon Mountains, now that they’ve revamped it is my favorite. I might be biased though. This is because I was able to gank an alliance player three levels above me due to a quest objective that gives you infrared goggles so you can see the alliance npc’s that are stealthed. I don’t know if this was meant to happen but I was able to see the alliance druid who was stealthed in cat form. He’d already killed me once and since I am also a druid it was easy to stealth up behind him, ravage claw rake.. and he was dead. I had tons of fun killing him over and over (3 times total). He probably couldn’t figure out how I was able to see him. *snickers*.

  16. Custom avatar Nick  817 days ago

My favorite 1-60 zone would have to be Silverpine Forest. I like it the best, because a large amount of The Forsaken lore is revealed here. I enjoy seeing the Horde’s side of the battle against Gilneas. This is also as great place to level all your Horde reputations.

  17. Moonrager  817 days ago

I will always have a nostalgic love for Teldrassil and Darnassus. It was my first character and that place had such a mysticism about it, I knew this was the game I could play forever. But it wasn’t until I began to play my gnome warlock that I found Dun Morogh that I truly found the humor of the developers. I must have sat through the quest “Ammo for Rumbleshot” probably on everyone one of my characters (Alliance) just to sit and watch the skit. Then it was the weird realization that Blizzard quest developers had an odd interest in animal poop. As I dug through poop for keys and microfilm. Just make me laugh that much more. Though I have to say that now in my reminiscing of the old areas and recently the new Gilneas. Whether is the majesty of Kalimdor or the Humor of Eastern Kingdoms, or the storyline of Gilneas, each area had its beauty and luster to make each character a new adventure.

Even as I progressed through Outland and Northrend, I would revel at the fun and adventure of each area. Pick one favorite? I just am not sure I can do that. Each area brings back true fondness and even a fond aggravation.

    Moonrager

PS. I will say if there is ever a contest for an zone that I hated, I can easily pick out Duskwood. While I enjoyed the storyline, the ambiance and the character interaction… until they put in the new flypoints, I simply HATED the back and forth from one end of the map to the other OVER AND FREAKING OVER!!! :)

Good luck to all the contestants!

My favorite Zone has always been redridge, seems like I have spent the most time there lvling characters up getting to know where everything is and all the different things to do there.

  19. Irene Anderson  817 days ago

My favorite zone would be the new Golblin starting zone. It is the most fun with so many different quests to do and I just love the little car and my homie friends I picked up along the way. And the Goblin’s are almost as cute as the Gnomes.

  20. Custom avatar Gobstopper  817 days ago

Has to be Westfall , i feel it is one of the areas in cataclysm that changed the most. I always had a blast questing there no matter how many times i did it on a toon. Now that its changed theres many new things it has to offer. Plus not to mention you get a westfall chicken!

  21. Craig Dalton  817 days ago

I like Ashenvale and Darkshore. I started way back in vanilla WOW, and my main is a druid and these zones always remind me of times I was learning to play. It all seemed so hard back then. The scenery and the music in these zones always puts me in a druid state of mind. Darnasus does the same thing to me. Remember having to do the druid quests to get your forms? Things are MUCH easier now (and probably more fun)!

Picking one favorite, I would have to say Darkshore.

    Hi!

I think I have to say my favorite zone is Dun Morogh.

The cold and calm winter zone is a fine place to be.
If u really listen u can hear this nice and calm ambient sound in the distance.

If u have time u can take a trip to the famous Thunderbrew Distillery and taste some of the finest ale in Azeroth.
Hehe and if u have too much there are rooms for rent so u can stay the night.

If u are in the area to do some adventuring there are plenty of quests and a lot to do in this nice zone.
Why not help the people in Kharanos defending the region against all sorts of threats.
Directly to the west is a large cavern inhabited by fierce Wendigo. To the northwest, the Frostmane trolls have entrenched themselves at Shimmer Ridge.

And while u are there don’t forget to get some knowledge about the history of Dun Morogh
and the mighty city of Ironforge.
In Ironforge u can go to the Hall of Explorers and read a lot of history about the ancient Azeroth.
You can also see some of the findings that mighty dwarven explorers have discovered over the years.

Did u know that Ironforge is the ancient home of the dwarves?
It was once ruled by the High King Modimus Anvilmar, who left no heir upon his death,
eventually leading to the War of the Three Hammers.

Before the Dark Iron Clan was banished from the city,
Ironforge was the commercial and social center of all the dwarven clans.
The Bronzebeard Clan, The Wildhammer Clan and the Dark Iron Clan.
The city is now home only to the Bronzebeard Clan.

U can see the mighty statue of King Anvilmar at the city gates of Ironforge. It is a massive statue nearly 100 feet high.

And right now there are history to be made after all the events that have happened in Gnomeregan
So take a trip and help the gnomes reshaping their hometown and be apart of history
This is absolutely a place to be and has something to offer for everybody.

I really hope u liked to read about of my favorite zone in Azeroth and I hope u will find some time to visit the place.

My favorite zone on wow is Stonetalon Mountains, there’s a new innovative quest right around every kill quest. Great story line and you feel like your a part of the Horde making a difference in the future for the Horde. Overall the zone brings new ideas to the table and parodies other great games such as “Bioshock”. Also before I forget to do this for my fellow hordies, “FOR THE HORDE!!!!”.

  24. Custom avatar Epic  817 days ago

my Fav zone would be Burning Steppes bc it was vary fun of the quest line that they have there and thx to your add on that help me out in there

Hmmm, this is hard, so many good zones. After much thought though I must admit the zone that I have played in so much, and created toons so that I could play in, is the Death Knight starting zone.
The first time I played here was so mind-blowing awesome, that I had to change realms and create another DK to go through it again. After many DK’s, some which have been deleted to make room, this area is still awesome to me. Such a pity it can’t be revisited, but I still have a couple of empty toon spots… bbl, gotta roll a new DK now :)

I just love how they have redone the quest chains in Westfall. I must say I was shocked to run into the murder scene of the old couple at the entrance. It was very cool to follow the story and solve their murders.

Deadmines is great, you can try out you low level toon to see if you like that class in the dungeon.

  28. Wretche  817 days ago

my favorite zone hands down, cape of stranglethorn. Be a pirate, hunt ninjas, and an epic pirate battle.

  29. Custom avatar Ash  817 days ago

Booty Bay where a pirate can truly be free. Combined with fishing tourneys, leather eye-patches, parrots and rum.

  30. Shawnaer  817 days ago

By far my favorite zone of all time through out all the changes has to be Booty Bay. From the original WoW when that was the place to be for PvP in the Gurubashi Arena. Not to mention the Sunday Fishing Derby’s. Plus the Original Hemet Nesingway quest line was the best. I remember farming for hours at Jaguero Isle on the damn panthers. Finally Booty Bay has always been the best non major town there is.

Who doesn’t remember trying to gank someone in Booty bay then jumping in the water only to get Netted and killed by the guards?

  31. Vega  817 days ago

My favorite zone right now is the new Gilneas. It is fun and really a new way of questing from the kill 20 of these and 10 of those days.I do however have a fondness in my heart for Westfal. I have been playing for 6 years now, started when I took early retirement. My first toon was a warrior, lol I pick that thinking I could protect myself if I had to lol. I must say I really sucked at it..didn’t know a thing and learned by mistake. I was so in awh of those really scarey Harvesters at the gate to Westfall.
They really scared me, and I would run to the bridge and watch them..wow level 10′s!! I will never be able to kill them. Well level 10 came it it was time to go forth and meet my nightmares head on.

I am grinning as I type this. I tried and failed a few times..then asked a big level 15 to help me. Well turns out I learned that you are supposed to use your spells not just wack away at stuff rofl. I also met the murlocks up close and personal getting 3 eyes for stew.Still hate those guys, and I go back for revenge every now and then .

Yes I have very fond memories of my early days just learning to play the game. This was my first game ever and I still love it. I have had many happy days here and have many great friends from all over the world. I still go back and ask if anyone needs any help in those starting areas, and enjoy
teaching the new players things no one ever taught me and I had to learn the hard way. I can also say I learn something new every day!!

  32. Custom avatar JamesX  817 days ago

Would still be STV. I always hated having to travel back and forward between 2 zones to level because there were not enough quests in one zone to stay trhere and the level gap was too large between the easy and hard ones. I know, STV levels still were too varied to just stay there, but there were so many quests you could stay there very long

  33. Custom avatar Cullen kawano  817 days ago

My favorite zone would I’ve to be Un’Goro Crater! It’s a total tribute to the cartoon Robotech:new generation or genesis climber mosipeda… :) it was so cool to roam around with dinosaurs and giant bug! The tropical greenery of the jungle… All “sealed up” in one zone :) truly awesome!

  34. Custom avatar Hector  817 days ago

My favorite dungeon is the deadmines dungeon…for some reason everytime i would make a new character once i hit level 15 i would always get it as my 1st dungeon even on random queue…and now that they made it harder in cataclysm…it makes it that much funner to play through it over and over!

  35. Custom avatar Honeylynn  817 days ago

I started playing the game about a year ago.. I friend of mine in the UK said hey you really would like this and maybe we can play together… Well after signing up, making a toon and trying to figure out why I at age 54 would I want to be running around figuring out how to do things where kids just seemed to zoom by me in leveling.. it became a challenge and the only downside was my friend and I couldn’t play together because he was on the EU version and the two don’t work together ..

Well recently we decided to try and find a way to play together and after many trails and oh totally deleating my US version of my account .. having to reinstall everything and hours on the phone with Blizzard because we needed all the help we could get … it finally happened .. My friend and I got to play together… We both made new toons .. started at the Abby and made our way through Goldshire.. leveling quickly because by now we both had several toons and were more expereinced now .. we weren’t fumbling around trying to figure out what to do but having so much fun following your guides..

The best day was when we both hit level 20.. got our first horses and rode from the Logging Camp to the lighthouse in Westfall.. We were like kids as we rode having fun jumping fences .. racing as fast as the slow horses would take us.. stopping to kill a few things to skin or to do a few quest along the way… Once at the lighthouse we stripped down to go swimming .. made a fire and tried out our cooking skills.. it was amusing and fun..even had strangers come by to join in the fun of a swim or a game of who can kill a muloc from the greatest distance ..

The game has so many awesome places to see.. to explore.. to quest in but because of all these fun memories with a long distance friend that once said.. hey we might be able to play together and the day that ended under the full moon at the lighthouse as we sat talking I would have to say Westfall will always hold the title as my favorite place.. not only did we have such a fun day .. the challenge of getting to that point was worth all the effort it took… Westfall .. a great place to spent the day ..

I would have to say it has been Deadmines. It was my first dungeon with a group of friends early on a Saturday morning and the joking and banter with friends was great but when we got to the ship and had to beat down the Tauren looking guy to go on I just cracked up when he stunned the group and made the comment that we were tougher than we looked! After I got up high enough level I would take lower levels on runs just so I could hear him say it again and relive the memory of good friends just starting out in WOW and leveling up together.

  37. Custom avatar Ian  817 days ago

My favorite zone is redridge mountains. It is my favorite because it was the first I ever quested in. I was at my friends house and he let me play on his new level 15 character I loved it and I have been playing ever since then. :)

  38. joe  817 days ago

my favorite zone would have to be western plaguelands. it was the first zone i actually started questing in and was quite enjoyable and now after all the changes it is even more so now. great story and interesting progresions.

  39. Emanuel Levy  817 days ago

My favorite dungeon is Gnomeregan. Just for the sheer frustration. I have yet to be part of a group who completes it. Usually my luck is the “TANK” doesn’t know what he/she is doing and the party wipes a few times them people leave and I end up being the only one and have to quit as well.

The reason that makes it my favorite is because it’s one that is always new to me because I’ve never completed it.

  40. Scott  817 days ago

Thunder bluff with it wide open spaces and plenty of herbs, ripe for the picking in making gold when i run low, they are always a great gold maker, oops there goes my secret, lol

  41. Custom avatar Kendralynn  817 days ago

This game has taught me a few lessons. I started watching my Nannie play watching over her shoulder. She would say make a toon and have some fun and I would tell her noooo I don’t want to make a toon, don’t want to play that geeky game and oh how she laughed as she heard me squeal when those limabean looking murlocs started chasing me and I didn’t know what to do, or when I would go exploring and get myself stuck in some place that I couldn’t find my way out of shouldn’t have been because I was to low a level.. lol I would have to say the Wetlands would be my favorite. There were so many quest and places for me to explore. I was always getting lost and putting out a call to all my new level 80 friends for someone to come find me and get me back to a safe place because I was tired of coming to life, run 10 feet only to die and repeat over and over because I was like a level 10 and hard headed when they would tell me .. YOU shouldn’t be here as they would come to my rescue.. Yes.. the Wetlands .. a place where a damsel in distress can call on her friends and it doesn’t take them to long to get to her…

  42. Custom avatar Scott  817 days ago

My favorite zone would probably be Ironforge. I know it may seem like an odd choice since its just a city with no questing to speak of, but I’ll never forget the first time I went there. WoW was my first mmo experience and a friend got me to play. After I had finished up the starting area and gotten some levels under my belt my friend told me I needed to go to the big cities and get them on my flight map so it would be easier to get around when I needed to later. So I found a little guide online about how to get from Darnassus to Ironforge so I would have a general idea of where I was going and made the trip. (This was before the boat was changed to Stormwind.) When I got there, I was just so overwhelmed by the atmosphere and details of the huge city from the King’s throne to the red hot lava far below and everything in between. But, what caught my attention more than anything was the shear volume of people. It was the first time I really began to understand what it meant to be playing a “Massively Multiplayler Online” game. I’ve played a couple of other mmos and enjoyed them, but none save WoW can really give you that sense of a vast world population in-game.

My favorite dungeon would have to be Deadmines – my first and favorite. I ran it that first time with a couple real life friends and some of their in-game friends. The feeling of being a part of that group working together to get through it was really awesome. If my first time in Ironforge was when I began to understand playing a mmo, then Deadmines was when I really understood what playing a mmo was all about.

My favorite place is the goblin starting area. I love driving the car around the slums and the helicopter ride. The bombs you place on the chickens is funny and the poor monkeys and their bananas lol. The quest lines make leveling fun especially the relationship with chip!

Well, I recently purchased Dugi’s Guide and it has been all it was talked up to be and then some. The simplicity of using it really makes the game enjoyable. I have definitely noticed that the time it takes to level up is extremely shorter compared to not using the guide. Getting onto the point of this response, I would have to say since I just started using the guide the Western Plaguelands would be my favorite. This was the first section I tried using Dugi’s Guide and it was unbelievably easy to follow! However, you may think being told what to do would get old, but I think this helps move the storyline along very nicely and makes it much easier and faster to level your character. I throughly enjoy using the guide and I have recommended it to a couple friends who are interested in getting started. Thanks!!!

My favorite thing about World of Warcraft is the races and the land and the boss along with the Wrogan’s not being able to run by them self’s, also the the Death Knights are awesome and Dugi’s Guides rule when I’m stuck or having trouble with something like an item I’m need for a quest and the city’s are so much better but the lag in them from people crowding the AH in the city’s is just bad for me cause it slows the game down.

I LOVE questing from Elwynn Forest -> Westfall. From killing Hogger with friends to trying to find groups for Deadmines before LFD, I’ve always loved the idea of having run-ins with gnolls and bandits. I especially had fun trying to get to the entrance of the Deadmines and getting lost so many times in those caves! The area has changed a bit since Cataclysm hit but I will always love it!

My favorite zone is Azuremyst Isle, I love the Draenei the storyline and the look . My first toon was a Draenei, i did not get in to wow when it first came out it took two of my friend to get me in to it but what got me realy hooked was the Draenei, and now i have toons on three realms. I was haveing some trouble leveling so looked online and found dugiguides and started leveling faster and doing moor dungeons and now i realy enjoy playing my toons.
    Thanks for makeing leveling fun.

One of my favorite classic WoW areas is Stranglethorn Vale. I’ll never forget when I tentatively crossed the bridge as a low level toon. I just couldn’t resist seeing what was around the next corner! It felt like stepping back into prehistoric times. I had to run for my life more than once! I loved it!

I would choose deadmines because it is where I first played wow when I took over my friend to play. I also like it because I would always get killed by those humans in the town and I would *get revenge* I also like deadmines because of it ore and mr. Smite :) woop woop too bad cata took him out :(
